My journey began amidst contrasts. Growing up in a split family between Islam and Dutch culture. From a young age, at 14, I drew a 1m² QR code on my wall, mesmerized by the doorway it represented. This moment ignited a curiosity that would later define my identity as Que.R.
In my early years, I pursued a career in water polo while studying computer vision as part of my software information degree. After graduation, I entered the tech industry, working for various software companies. However, at 24, my life hit a turning point. My water polo dreams crumbled, and a long-term relationship ended. This period of turmoil forced me to confront my reality and reassess my path.
During this reflection, I learned a crucial lesson: to truly succeed, I needed to express my feelings. This realization led me to start anew, dedicating the next five years to exploring the tech industry while simultaneously beginning my journey as an artist and water polo coach. Art became a manifestation of my inner world – a way to bring color to the rigid structure I had built around myself.
Music, particularly hard techno, became my primary mode of self-expression. I was captivated by its seamless flow of sound that blurs the lines of time, keeping the energy alive on the dance floor. For me, it's not just about the hard drops; it's about crafting a journey that keeps people moving without interruption.
As Que.R, I also ventured into the visual realm, reconnecting with my love for computer vision. I began creating visual art and designing clothing that embodied my artistic journey. My art and music represent the dualities of my life – the blend of structure and chaos, the darkness and light, interwoven with the color of life.
Now, I stand at the intersection of sound, vision, and technology. My journey is still unfolding, and I’m excited to share it with you on the dance floor and through the digital spaces I am creating.
